Eligibility Criteria
1. Young Professional (Academic Research)
- Must have appeared in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and be registered on the UPSC Pratibha Setu Portal.
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject is preferred.
- PhD (submitted/awarded) candidates will be given preference.
- Experience in academic research, teaching, or educational assessment is desirable.
2. Young Professional (Legal Research)
- Must have appeared in CSE with Law as an optional subject and be registered on the Pratibha Setu Portal.
- LLM (Master of Laws) from a recognized university.
- Experience in legal research, litigation, courts, tribunals, law firms, or government legal departments is preferred.
3. Young Professional (Finance & Accounts Research)
- Must have appeared in the Civil Services Examination and be registered on the Pratibha Setu Portal.
- Postgraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, or CS.
- Experience in financial analysis, auditing, budgeting, or accounts is preferred.
Age Limit
Candidates must meet the age criteria prescribed under the UPSC Pratibha Setu Portal for engagement as Young Professionals.
Contract Period
- Initial appointment will be for two years.
- The contract may be extended depending on:
- Individual performance.
- Organizational requirements of NTA.
Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted by the National Testing Agency as per the detailed recruitment notification. It may include:
- Screening of applications.
- Shortlisting of eligible candidates.
- Interview or any other assessment as decided by NTA.
NTA Young Professional Recruitment 2026: Terms of Engagement (Short)
- Monthly Salary: ₹80,000 per month (fixed, all-inclusive). Statutory deductions will apply.
- Contract Duration: Initial 24 months, extendable by 12 months (up to 36 months) based on performance and NTA’s requirements.
- Work Location: NTA Office, New Delhi. Occasional official travel within India may be required and reimbursed as per NTA rules.
- Leave: 8 days of leave per year on a pro-rata basis, along with NTA public holidays.
- Working Hours: Full-time, 5 days a week. Additional hours or weekend work may be required during examination periods.
- Nature of Appointment: Purely contractual. No claim for permanent employment or regularization.
- Termination: Either party can terminate the contract with 30 days’ written notice. NTA may terminate immediately for misconduct, poor performance, or breach of confidentiality.
- Confidentiality: Selected candidates must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Violation of confidentiality may lead to immediate termination.
Reporting Structure
- Academic Research YPs: Report to the Head of the Academic Unit or an officer nominated by the Director General.
- Legal Research YPs: Report to the Head of the Legal Unit or an officer nominated by the Director General.
- Finance & Accounts Research YPs: Report to the Head of the Finance and Accounts Unit or an officer nominated by the Director General.
