Key Roles & Responsibilities – SBI Specialist Officers Trade Finance Officer

Scrutinize trade finance documents such as Letters of Credit (LCs), Collections, and Bank Guarantees to ensure compliance with Bank, RBI, ICC, FEDAI, and other regulatory guidelines. Provide support and guidance to junior staff, branch officials, and customers whenever required.
Process Trade Finance and Forex transactions at the centralized processing center on behalf of branches across the bank, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the prescribed Turnaround Time (TAT).
Handle reconciliation of Trade Finance and Forex-related entries across the Bank’s Trade Finance systems, Forex systems, Core Banking System (CBS), and regulatory platforms such as IDPMS/EDPMS.
Perform additional responsibilities related to Trade Finance and International Business back-office operations as assigned by the Bank.

B. Educational Qualification SBI Specialist officers Recruitment

Mandatory Qualification

Graduation in any discipline from a Government-recognized University or Institution.
Certification in Forex Operations from IIBF.
- The certificate issued on or before 30 April 2026.

Preferred Qualification

Candidates having any of the following certifications will be preferrable:

Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS)
Certificate in Trade Finance
Certificate in International Banking

C. Work Experience

Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing.
Experience should be in a supervisory or officer-level role in any Scheduled Commercial Bank.

Selection Process

The recruitment process for the post of Trade Finance Officer (MMGS-II) will be based on Shortlisting and Interview.

1. Shortlisting

Mere fulfillment of the minimum educational qualification and experience criteria does not guarantee an interview call.
A Shortlisting Committee constituted by the Bank will determine the shortlisting criteria and parameters.
Based on these parameters, an adequate number of candidates shorlisted for the interview.
The Bank’s decision regarding shortlisting and interview calls will be final and binding.
No correspondence or requests regarding shortlisting will be entertainable.

2. Interview

The interview will carry a total of 100 marks.
Minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be decided by the Bank.
The Bank’s decision in this regard will be final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

3. Merit List

The final merit list will be prepared in descending order based solely on the marks obtained in the interview.
In case two or more candidates secure the same cut-off marks, ranking in the merit list will be determined according to age, with older candidates placed higher in merit order.

Call Letter for Interview

Intimation or call letters for the interview will be sent through the candidate’s registered email ID or uploaded on the Bank’s official website.
No hard copy of the interview call letter will be sent by post.
