MCA Young Professional 2026: Tenure
The maximum tenure of a Young Professional under the engagement is four years. The initial appointment will be made for a period of two years. Subject to performance appraisal, the Secretary, Corporate Affairs may grant a further one-time extension of two years.
The engagement is full-time. Young Professionals will not be permitted to undertake any other assignment during their engagement with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The appointment is temporary and is made against specific jobs or assignments. The Ministry may cancel the appointment in accordance with the applicable terms.
MCA Young Professional 2026: Salary
Young Professionals will receive consolidated monthly remuneration based on the year of engagement.

MCA Young Professional 2026: Job Responsibilities
The comprehensive job chart includes assisting officers with various functions under the Companies Act, 2013.
The responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of investigation reports ordered by the Ministry under Section 216 of the Companies Act, 2013.
Young Professionals may also assist with inspection reports ordered under Section 206(5) and analyse inquiry or scrutiny reports submitted by the Registrar of Companies.

- Working Hours: Young Professionals are required to follow the normal office working hours of 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Depending on the requirements of time-bound assignments, they may also be required to attend office on holidays.
- Leave Rules: Young Professionals will be eligible for eight days of leave in a calendar year, calculated on a pro-rata basis. If a Young Professional remains absent beyond the entitled leave period, remuneration will not be payable for the excess period. The Ministry may terminate the engagement if a Young Professional remains absent for more than 15 days beyond the entitled leave in a calendar year. Unused leave cannot be carried forward to the next calendar year.
Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality
Young Professionals are required to follow the rules, regulations and instructions issued by the Government of India. They are expected to maintain honesty and sincerity while performing their duties.
The engagement is also subject to confidentiality requirements. Young Professionals will be governed by provisions relating to official secrecy and will be required to sign a Declaration of Secrecy and Non-Disclosure Agreement before joining.
The provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 will also apply.
Restriction After Leaving MCA
A Young Professional who has worked on cases involving particular companies will not be permitted to work on the same case for two years after leaving the organisation, either independently or while working with a law firm, audit firm, company or another organisation.
A monthly log will be maintained by the supervising officer recording the companies being handled by the MCA Young Professional 2026.
Capacity Building and Training
Young Professionals will receive orientation training from the officer under whom they are appointed.
Training guidelines or modules may be prepared by the ICLS Academy for a period of approximately one to two weeks to help Young Professionals acquire job-related skills.
Tax Deduction
Income tax or any other applicable tax will be deducted at source according to prevailing rules before payment of remuneration. The department will issue the applicable TDS certificate.
Termination of Engagement
The Ministry may terminate the engagement by providing 30 days’ notice in situations including:-
- Inability to perform the assigned work.
- Quality of work not being satisfactory.
- Failure to achieve assigned milestones within the prescribed time.
- Lack of honesty or integrity.
- Conflict of interest.
A Young Professional can also seek termination of the engagement by giving 30 days’ notice to the Ministry.
