Engineering Officer Grade 1
For Electrical Engineering Officer Grade 1, candidates must have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognised university.
Candidates must also have a valid GATE score of 2024, 2025, or 2026 in the Electrical Engineering paper. The maximum age limit is 30 years.
For Civil Engineering Officer Grade 1, candidates need a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering along with a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025 or 2026 in Civil Engineering. The maximum age limit is also 30 years.
Scientific Assistant
Candidates applying for Scientific Assistant must have a First Class B.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognised university along with five years of relevant experience. The maximum age limit is 35 years.
Engineering Assistant
For Engineering Assistant posts, candidates need a First Class three-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline.

Technician Grade 1

Technical Attendant Grade 1

Assistant Grade II
Candidates must possess a First Class BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BBA, BBM or BCA degree from a recognised university.
In addition, candidates must have at least a Grade-B certificate in the Basic Computer Course (BCC) conducted by NIELIT. CPRI has specifically stated that only the BCC conducted by NIELIT will be accepted for this post. The maximum age limit is 30 years.
Multi-Tasking Staff Grade 1
Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised board. The MTS Grade 1 posts are for Watch & Ward duties, and all posts in this category are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

CPRI Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process varies by post.
- Engineering Officer Grade 1: Selection will be based on the GATE score.
- Engineering Assistant and Scientific Assistant: Candidates will be selected through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a job-specific practical skill test.
- Technician Grade 1: Selection will be based on performance in the CBT, followed by a qualifying Trade Test.
