The Punjab Court Selection Process 2026 consists of an Online Written Examination (Computer-Based Test) followed by a qualifying Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination.

2. Qualifying Marks and Negative Marking
- Candidates must secure at least 33% marks in each subject.
- Candidates must also obtain at least 40% marks in aggregate in the written examination.
- There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect objective answer.
- Unattempted questions will receive neither credit nor penalty.
- Objective-section marks will be normalised, while subjective-section marks will be counted as actual marks.
- The subjective English Composition answers will be evaluated only for candidates who secure at least 33% marks in General Knowledge.
- Candidates must type the subjective English Composition answers on a computer within the allotted time.
3. Punjab Court Selection Process 2026: Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
Candidates qualifying in the written Punjab Court Exam Pattern 2026 will be shortlisted category-wise, as decided by the Hon’ble High Court, for the Computer Proficiency Test. The CPT is mandatory and qualifying in nature; its marks will not be included in the final merit list.
The CPT consists of two parts:

4. Exemption from Computer Proficiency Test
Eligible persons with disabilities may apply for exemption from the CPT by submitting the prescribed certificates or by the Punjab Court Selection Process 2026 guidelines.
- Persons with benchmark locomotor disability involving both arms (BA) may apply with a disability certificate.
- Other persons with benchmark disabilities under Section 2(r) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, may apply with a disability certificate and a medical certificate confirming physical limitations that prevent typing at 30 WPM.
- Persons with disabilities covered under Section 2(s) of the Act may apply with the medical certificate specified in the recruitment notice.

5. Preparation of Final Merit List
The final selection list will be prepared strictly according to merit in the written CBT. Candidates obtaining higher written examination marks will be placed higher in the merit list, subject to the number of vacancies.
