APPSC Group 1 Exam Pattern and Selection Process

The selection process consists of: Screening Test → Main Written Examination → Interview/Personality Test.

The Screening Test is an objective-type offline OMR examination consisting of two papers. Candidates must appear in both papers. The Screening Test is used to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination, generally up to 50 times the number of vacancies.

The syllabus covers General Studies, including history, culture, polity, economy, geography, current affairs, and Andhra Pradesh-related topics. General Aptitude covers reasoning, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, decision-making, science and technology, environment, and other prescribed areas.

The Main Examination is descriptive. Telugu and English are qualifying papers, and their marks are not counted for merit. The remaining five papers are considered for merit, followed by the 75-mark Interview/Personality Test.
