Airforce Agniveervayu for outstanding sportsmen

The application form will open on 11 August to select the Agniveer Vayu in Indian Air Force for a period of 4 years. Agniveervayu will be permitted to appear for NDA/ AFCAT examinations (maximum three attempts) during their engagement period of four years,but they have meet the qualification for these AFCAT and NDA .

Other advantage of Agniveervayu is that after four year besides their regular payment they can take home around 10 lakh rupees.

Educational Qualification.

Science Subjects.

Candidates with Science at Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from an Education Board recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

OR

Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).

OR Passed Two years Vocational course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics from an Education Board recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in vocational course).

Other than Science Subjects.

 Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination in any stream/ subjects from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Sports Achievements.

 Individual should have represented the country in Junior/ Senior International competitions recognised by International Olympics committee (IOA) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned at Para 1.

OR

 Individual should have attained the minimum standard of fifth place in the Junior National competitions, representing any State/ Union Territory in Senior National competitions conducted by respective Sports Federations or All India Inter University competitions or SAI (Khelo India National) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned at Para 1.

OR

In team events, the individual should have represented state/ UT in Junior/ Senior National competitions conducted by respective Sports Federations or All India Inter University Championship or SAI (Khelo India National) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned at Para 1

For Cricket Discipline Only. Candidates who have played All India InterUniversity or BCCI Trophies – U-19, U-23, Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy or higher participation are only eligible to apply.

 For Shooting Discipline Only. Candidates who have an International Medal/ Participation representing India OR have attained the national ranking (NSCC) up to 50th rank in 10M Air Pistol/ 10M Air Rifle/ 50M Rifle 3P/ 25M Rapid Fire pistol.

For Chess Discipline Only. Candidates who have a live International FIDE Standard Classic Rating of 2300 and above as on the date of applying are only eligible to apply

Mandatory Medical Standards.

General medical standards to become an Agniveervayu (Sports) male candidates are as follows:- 8.1. Height. Minimum acceptable height is 152 cm.

Weight. Weight should be Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.

Chest. The chest wall should be well proportioned and well developed. Minimum chest circumference should be 77 cms and the chest expansion should be at least 05 cms.

Hearing. Candidate should have normal hearing i.e able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.

Dental. Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Sports Skill Trials.

Only PFT pass candidates would be called for sports skill trials.

Sports Skill trials will be conducted for the Sports applied at venues decided by AFSCB in Delhi-NCR.
